The purposes of the Transferium:

The purpose of a transferium is to persuade people to leave their cars behind and travel by public transportationation for a part of the journey. Transferiums offer convenient parking and nearby public transportation facilities. For this reason, you will always find a transferium at places that are easily accessible to cars. They are located close to highways, on the outskirts of major cities or near public transportation hubs.

Route description:

Transferium Amsterdam ArenA is situated close to the ArenA Stadium, the Bijlmer railway and subway stations and the A2 exit Ouderkerk (N522). You can easily get to the transferium from the A1, A2, A9 and A10 highways. The address is Arena Boulevard 11, 1101 AX Amsterdam Zuid-Oost.

• Route description from A10: To get to the stadium follow the signs 'Transferium/ Amsterdam ArenA' and 'Zuid Oost'.
• Route description from A2: Exit 1 "Ouderkerk aan de Amstel" - follow P + R Transferium sign or P ArenA-sign.

Public transport to city centre:

• Metro
  Strandvliet/ArenA metro station and Bijlmer metro station are located approx. 5 minutes' walk away from the stadium. There are regular direct services to Amstel Station and Centraal Station in Amsterdam. Metro lines 50 and 54 stop at the metro stations listed.
• Train
  The Amsterdam ArenA is classified as 'Easily accessible by train'. The stadium is within walking distance of Duivendrecht railway station (approx. 15 minutes) and Bijlmer railway station (approx. 5 minutes). Bijlmer station will be completely rebuilt over the coming years, and will form the link between the Amsterdamse Poort shopping centre and the ArenA area. The attractive contemporary building is expected to be completed at the end of 2006. In addition, the tracks are being doubled over a 6 kilometer stretch, and a direct link between Schiphol and Utrecht is being created (the Utrechtboog).
• Bus
  Travellers from the region can access the Amsterdam ArenA by regional bus services 29, 158, 174, 177 and 178.

The transferium/ArenA parking is open 24 hours a day, the parking is secured.

P+R rate: € 5,50 for 24 hours (including 2 free public transport tickets).
PLEASE NOTE Do NOT use your credit card when entering the P&R garage. Only on presentation of the parking ticket issued at the P&R will you receive the P&R discounts (€ 5.50 for 24 hours parking and two free public transport tickets).

The P+R rules:

1. You take a parking ticket from the barrier at the entrance point.
2. Once you have parked your car, take your parking ticket to the P+R kiosk.
3. There, you and your travelling companion will get a NS return ticket for the train or a GVB return ticket for bus, tram or metro into Amsterdam.
4. Important! Make sure to get your return ticket stamped on both the inward and outward public transport trips.
5. When you get back, show your stamped GVB tickets or usedup NS tickets along with your P+R ticket at the P+R kiosk.
6. Then you only have to pay € 5.50 at the payment machine (credit card payments possible).

P+R tickets for more than one day (MP+R ticket):

Are you going into the city for longer than 24 hours? Then ask at the P+R kiosk for a multipleday P+R ticket. This lasts for up to 96 hours. It still costs only € 5.50 per 24 hours.

This MP+R ticket entitles you moreover to two public transport tickets for the journey out by tram, bus, metro or train to Amsterdam. The costs of the return trip (after 24 hours) to the P+R location are not included. Take care! After 96 hours the right to use the multiple-day P+R ticket lapses and the normal hourly or daily rates will apply.

Avoid disappointment

Take advantage of this preferential P+R scheme and stick to the P+R rules mentioned. If you don’t use the public transport return tickets, or don’t stamp them, then you’ll pay the normal parking tariff (€ 19,00).

So avoid disappointment and make sure that you hand in again your stamped GVB tickets or your used-up NS tickets!

A fee of € 1,80 will be charged for each free public transport ticket which is not returned.

The parking fee is € 1,50 an hour, with a maximum of € 19,00 a day. This fee will be charged when not travelling to the city centre.

Public transport, opening hours and cost:

Traveling time to Amsterdam Central Station by subway or train is approximately 15 minutes. Traveling time to the World Trade Center is approximately 10 minutes. A train/subway train departs every 10 minutes. The transferium is open 24 hours a day; seven days a week. Please note that public transportation runs between 5:45 a.m. – 0:15 p.m. The price for parking and two public transportation tickets to Amsterdam is € 5.50 per day. After 24 hours it is € 1,90 per hour, with a maximum of € 19,00 per day. Only parking: € 1,90 per hour, with a maximum of € 19,00 per day.
