Theatres, concert-halls and cinemas in Rotterdam

Performances are mostly in Dutch, however some are in English, especially in summer. But there are plenty where there isn't spoken much anyway. Check the the Uitkrant for performances.

Old Luxor

In January 2001 Luxor has moved from its old building at the Kruiskade (900 seats) to the brandnew theatre on the Kop van Zuid (1500 seats). Plans are made for a whole new building on the spot of the Old Luxor Theatre. But until then the theatre is kept open.

New Luxor

Designed by the international known Australian architect Peter Wilson, the theatre is situated along the waterfront, between river and city. Visitors have an excellent view of the harbour and the magnificent skyline of Rotterdam. The Luxor Theatre will be one of the biggest amusement theatres in the Netherlands and home to various forms of entertainment including musical, family shows, cabaret, opera, revue and dance for international and local audiences.

Theatre Zuidplein

Theater Zuidplein in Rotterdam is based in the southern part of the city and accommodates two spaces: one seating 600 people, a smaller venue seating 150. The theatre presents over 200 different shows per season (September to June). Theater Zuidplein mainly focuses on the main populations in the city: people from Turkish, Moroccan, Surinam, Antillean and Cape Verdean cultural backgrounds.
